The Edmonton Chinese Philharmonica Association is a non-profit organization registered under the Society Acts of the Province of Alberta, Canada. All executives of the Association are volunteers.

The objectives of the Association are four folds, namely:

1. To assist charitable organizations in their fund raising activities;
2. To unite the traditional Chinese music lovers in order to promote and preserver the culture of China in Canada;
3. To promote multcultural interactions and exchanges;
4. To cultivate an interest in Chinese music among the younger generation.

The ECPA performs many times every year in festivals, senior lodges, health center and primary and secondary schools and in Unversity of Alberta.

愛城民族樂團正式成立 傳揚中國文化出一分力  (2001 11 22)

中國的傳統民族音樂，源遠流長、風格獨特，在世界音樂的領域上，有其極特殊和崇高的地位；
中國音樂是一國際語言，不受地區語言的限制；它代表著中國文化的特色，也具備著東方藝術
的魅力。

愛城民樂團是一個非牟利的註冊團體，由愛民頓市內一群熱愛民族樂器的演奏者所組成。本團以
傳揚中國的民族音樂為宗旨，希望通過大家的努力和合作，使中國音樂這一朵文化奇花，能在加
拿大這一片多元文化的沃土上，放一異彩。

本團的活動範圍，主要是通過演奏和互相學習的形式，以達到以下的目的；

(一) 協助慈善機構的籌款活動；
(二) 團結對中國音樂有興趣的人仕，成為社群的一股凝聚力；
(三) 促進多元文化的交流；
(四) 培養年青一代對中國民族音樂的興趣。

愛城民樂團曾於今年十一月初，應邀前往亞省大學藝術學院，在其午間音樂會中作出獨奏和重奏
等演出，甚獲好評。本團現正準備在明年二月份《華人社區服務中心》舉行的籌款音樂會中表演
多個曲目；本團亦計劃參與明年五月份亞洲傳統文化節的演出。

本民樂團現欲招收新團員，歡迎能演奏中國樂器(亦需要大提琴 Cello和倍大提琴Double-Bass) 的人
仕加入，期望能透過音樂，使更多的民樂愛好者，互相認識，共同切磋，交流技藝，服務社會。
